Zona Nyaman...
This morning I read a posting stated that how we managed interaction in the social media is actually a way to settle in our comfort zone as every respond is given the circle that we choose.
Well, it brought me to a quite deep thought.
Except for my Facebook account, I strictly managed my social media account, name it Twitter, Instagram and Path.
I lock my account and carefully approve each following request to my account. But was it because of I want a comfort zone of mine?
As I thought it over, at the beginning my underlying reason is a simple one.
Though I am not a celebrity but I want to control who I allow to sneak my private life.
As I am an introvert (OK, you might disagree but I am,
I think that is how I become a bit uneasy to let people to see my daily life.
I have nothing to hide but I definitely have something to protect.
And here they are (to name a few):
First, my precious life.
I will not let stranger or those who don't have reasonable amount of interactions with me in real life now or before to comment, imagine or mislead me and those around me, my family and friends, on a basis of a single statement or picture of me.
I don't need follower who judge me immature by a posting of my K-pop idol picture.
Or judge me as a LGBT supporter simply because I favorited a posting by a gay fashion blogger I follow.
Second, my precious self.
Therefore, I will also not let or tempt myself to do the same to others.
I will only comment to thing I know and ask if I don't.
I try my best not to jump into conclusion.
That is why I only keep those I know well enough in my circle.
Still, if I find that they post something that made me uncomfortable (mostly for being negative, I might unfriend or unfollow them immediately.
Call me a safe player or even anti-social, but I have to keep my mental health and keep my life positive.
Then a question arise, how about me interacting with strangers in my social media.
I do and will always do for those who I admire and those who have the same interest with me.
I follow writers, media influencer, celebrities, idols, muses, and fandom account.
However, there are times when I decided to unfollow their account.
In conclusion, I agree that I control my social media to be in my comfort zone.
And it's nothing special since I am doing exactly the same with my real life,
I carefully choose who I want to be with.
Oh, I forgot one thing, one more category of stranger I follow,
that is online shops account.
For that I don't think I need to explain why.
Have a great weekend.
